“Jack” is line bred on our GCH Dolly Varden, with Marvelous Profet on both sides as well. His sire, Diggory, was a great improver of general appearance; his daughters were consistently wide, powerful does with exquisite toplines and levelness in the rump, and correct angulation in the rear legs. His dam, GCH Dolce Vita, was our top doe until we lost her at age 5. Jack is very similar in type to his sire: extremely long-bodied, sharp and tight over the withers, level over the topline, with excellent rear leg angulation. He has a beautiful Alpine head with a classic dished face. We were very pleased with his LA score of 88 at age 2, but decided to have him reappraised this year at age 6.  This time he appraised 90, with an E in general appearance! Jack’s first daughter to freshen, Sheba, probably has the most correct mammary system in the herd, and completed her GCH in 2005 as a 3 year old! Unfortunately, Jack has been underutilized in our small herd, but he is bred to two of our best does this season, GCH Sharon and  Liesel.  I have added a photo this year (and have others if interested); he is tied to the fence, not set up, but hopefully this shot will provide some information about his overall structure and appearance. With another breeding season over, we have recently decided to offer Jack for sale at $500.
