"Gabby" is another long and level Petey daughter with excellent width throughout. Her dam, Jubilee (now in an Ohio herd), freshened with a
beautiful and globular mammary, and in keeping with the Sharon/Velvet doe line, Gabby also has a beautiful mammary attachment with ideal teat placement and size.  Shown twice this season, Gabby placed first both times. One judge described her as a "screamer" and a doe to watch in the future. She has been called "the best doe in the herd" by another judge who visited this summer. While her dam is a doe of just moderate size, Gabby takes her size and scale from Petey, and has the stature and body capacity that we love!  She was appraised just two weeks after her late freshening. Sadly, Gabby presented with an acute apparent neurological problem at the end of August, which the vet believes may have been meningeal worm. This has altered her gait somewhat, which I am afraid may affect her show career. With treatment, she is much improved, however, and deciding at the last minute to take her to the final show of the season, Gabby placed Reserve Senior Champion and first place Alpine udder!! She is definitely a doe to watch!
