Extremely similar in type to Binibeca, Loca is a long-bodied, stylish doe with excellent rear leg set. She has a beautifully level topline and is very correct in shoulder assembly. Loca has exquisite mammary attachment: she is one of those who, as I watched her udder fill just prior to kidding, caused me to wonder in awe if the mammary could really be as beautiful as it looked, and it is!! She has an extremely high and arched rear udder, and a fore udder which is seamlessly blended into her abdomen. She has near ideal teat size. Loca is also the heaviest milker of our Limerick daughters to date. As a dry yearling in 2005, Loca placed 1X 2ndand Reserve Junior Champion and 1X 3rd. Shown twice in 2006, Loca placed 1X 2nd, behind her half sister, Beca, and 1X 1st and GCH, earning her 1st Leg!! We are extremely pleased with her linear appraisal score, which is the highest score allowed a first freshener!! Sadly, after delivering triplets by *B Willow Run Ahren Rhett in the spring of 2007, Loca became very ill for a number of weeks, and we thought we might lose her. We managed to nurse her back to health eventually, and were finally able to show her in the last show of the season. She went GCH, earning her 2nd Leg!! We have retained one of Loca's sons by WR Ahren Rhett, Avant Garde, and her other son is in the Hokins Alpines herd in Vermont. The photos shown were taken well into her first lactation (2006); we were not able to get any updated photos this season (I have recently added a a third photo which shows Loca's udder full; unfortunately, she is set up poorly, but I wanted viewers to get a better idea of her mammary). We have our fingers crossed that Loca will maintain good health in 2008.
