Taller and more stylish than her dam, Rose Petal, Sharon is smoothly blended, powerful, wide throughout, and has her sire's very level topline. She has tremendous depth in the flank. Sharon's mammary is exquisite, and is among the best we have ever bred. She has ideal teat size and placement, an extremely high and wide rear udder (45 on linear appraisal) and her dam's well extended and smoothly blended fore udder (40 on linear appraisal), and a wide and beautifully arched escutcheon. Shown only once as a dry yearling, Sharon placed 1st and Junior Champion. Shown 5 times as a two year old first freshener, Sharon placed 4 X 1st, 1 X 2nd. We were thrilled as well with Sharon’s production as a first freshener, attaining a new Roeburn record (at that time) for our highest first freshening production! Sharon had a false pregnancy in 2003, and as a 3 year old milked through first freshener, she was not nearly as competitive as she would have been had she freshened. Shown four times, she placed 1X 1st, 2 X 2nd, 1 X 3rd. Freshening again in 2004, Sharon rose to the top right away, as I had anticipated. In four shows, she placed 3 X 1st, 1X 2nd, 3 X GCH, finishing her championship! Sharon is showing herself to be an excellent brood doe as well: she has sons working in NH and Maine herds, and one GCH daughter, Sheba. We love her 2005 daughter, Black Velvet, by Lohengrin, and have retained her 2006 son, Bruno, out of *B Sunshine Seign Sedric. Sharon and her daughter Sheba have the highest linear appraisal scores in the herd. This doe line has been extremely consistent for us and the depth of quality is very impressive; Sheba is a 4th generation GCH. We truly view Sharon as our most valuable doe.
